Impact

Building Young Brixton has worked with over 4,000 young people over the last 7 years. We assess our progress quarterly to see how we are doing against our targets. Annually, we assess our impact, looking at the outcomes achieved by the young people we have worked with. Our vision for BYB is for young people in Lambeth to thrive through the achievement of the 5 following outcomes:

1.

Increase in school involvement

Through various activities, such as in-school mentoring and coaching, as well as homework help and peer mentor programmes, BYB partners support young people to become more involved in school.  In 2023, 469 young people we worked with said they felt more engaged in school.

Increase in emotional and physical wellbeing

All our activities take into account both the emotional and physical wellbeing of young people, with one-to-one mentoring, coaching and group activities supporting young people in their emotional and social development. As a result, 1,946 young people felt their mental health and wellbeing had improved after taking part in BYB activities.
